The matrix of Europe is anti-fascist
On Saturday, October 16, 2021, we took to Piazza San Giovanni in Rome with European flags to participate in the #MAIPIUFASCISMdemonstration, called by the confederal trade unions after the squadrist assault on the CGIL national headquarters..
To defend trade union rights as affirmed in the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights, to celebrate the historic commitment of workers' representatives in the battles for freedom, to reaffirm that Europe's roots lie in the memory of the tragedies and totalitarianisms of the 20th century.
We created the T-shirt "THE MATRIX OF EUROPE IS ANTIFASCIST," to ironically denounce the inability of the Italian right wing to distance itself from historical fascism , and gave it to some of the protagonists of the event.Â
The EU is not just a market. It is a community of values and rights based on the principles of freedom, equality and solidarity. And on the will to erase the shadows of fascism and totalitarianism that bloodied Europe in the last century.
